Kamal Haasan coins ‘Hindu terror’, says they indulged in violence these days

NEW DELHI: Veteran actor Kamal Haasan yet again in news for his comment on “saffron terror” phrase, that the “right wing cannot challenge the fact that there is no Hindu terror.”

According to reports emerged on Wednesday, Kamal Hassan writing in his column in the weekly series in Tamil magazine ‘Ananda Vikatan, Hassan says:

“In the past the Hindu right used to engage only in intellectual debates with the other religious groups. Once this approach started failing they have resorted to muscle power. They too started indulging in violence. The Hindus cannot challenge others to show extremists among them since extremism has spread to that extent even among the Hindus.”

Haasan further wrote, “The right wing cannot challenge talk of Hindu terrorists because terror has spread into their camp as well.”

“Hindus are losing faith in ‘satyameva jayate’ and instead subscribing to ‘might is right’,” he added.

The superstar’s comment about right-wing terrorism came in reply to a question posed to him made by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Kamal’s remark has not gone down well with some political parties and had demanded an apology.

“He should apologise and take his word back. In reality, there is peace because Hindus are in majority,” said BJP spokesperson Narayan Tripathi, as per a report in CNN News-18.
