Kancha condemns TG’s fatwa to hang him in street

Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd today condemned the attack of TDP MP TG Venkatesh on American democracy and civilization as the American House of Representatives condemned the latter’s fatwa to hang him in the street.

Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd asked “Would Americans keep quiet if their religion or ancestors are targeted? This kind of attack on America would put the entire Non-Resident Indians, particularly the NRIs of two Telugu States in great risk”, he added. He also demanded that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to explain his stand on the outbursts of TG Venkatesh. Why Chandrababu Naidu was not suspending him from the party and not writing to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha that his membership of the House be cancelled.

The Western democracy, more particularly the American democracy, is very serious about guarding the Freedom of Speech of individuals and writers, he said, adding more than anybody Chandrababu Naidu should understand this basic fact.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also understand that fatwa of Venkatesh would mar the image of India worldwide.
