Kapil Sharma show: Salman Khan made the call, asked Sidhu to step down

New Delhi: Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has been asked to step down from the famous Kapil Sharma show but the final decision is still on hold said sources.

But what turns out to be surprising is that it was the show’s producer Salman Khan behind making the call, IndiaToday reports.

Navjot Singh Sidhu remarks on holding talks with Pakistan even after the Pulwama terror attack has landed him in troubled waters following which #BoycottKapilSharmaShow started trending shortly with a source close to the comedy show also confirming Sidhu has been sacked.

However, according to the latest report from DB post, although Salman took the call and asked for Sidhu’s resignation as he didn’t want the show’s ratings to be affected because of one person he has still not taken the final decision and kept Sidhu’s exit on hold waiting for things to cool down.

“When this entire controversy happened; the channel was still not sure on what decision to make. It was the producer of the show, Salman Khan’s immediate decision to ask Sidhu to step down from the show. Obviously, as a producer, Salman did not want to take a chance, especially when so much money has been involved in its production. The show is doing well in terms of TRP and Salman doesn’t want to lose it just for the sake of one person. And so, he decided to take a call immediately,” a source told DB Post.

According to sources, the discussion between the producer and the channel is still on. As of now the show’s producer Salman has advised the channel is to let the matter cool down before they announce their final decision.

There still might be chances of Sidhu returning back to the show thanks to Kapil Sharma and Salman Khan, said another source.

“For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished,” Sidhu said after the Pulwama attack.

Well, this attack on Indian soldiers was indeed a coward attack just ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Is it the war with Pakistan or peace talks among the two nations a proper solution to the never-ending hatred that has been existing between the two nations since Independence.

Despite Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan expressing interest of initiating peace talks with India, Sidhu’s remark of maintaining the talks even after the Pulwama attack have all of a sudden turned him into a supporter of Pakistan and a traitor to India.

Amidst the condemnation of Sidhu, BJP legislator Nepal Singh’s walks free even after making the controversial comment on Pulwama attack where he had said Army jawans “ought to die” was comment selectively ignored by the whole nation.
