Mysuru: A nurse in impersonating as a Doctor and treating patients for the past 7 months was finally caught with impersonation and cheating cases now registered against him.
The police were noticed after Dr Umesh, Mysuru taluk health officer filed a complaint against the accused nurse Dinesh.
According to the reports, the case dates back to July 23, 2018, when a patient Jameel Pasha visited a private hospital for treatment.
No duty Doctors were available at that time but however, Dinesh, the nurse impersonated as a doctor and examined Pasha along with writing him a prescription, TOI reports.
Again when another patient Shrinivasa visited the hospital on September 17 he too was “treated” by Dinesh, said VV Puram police.
This continued until the news of Dinesh impersonating as a Doctor spread in the region followed by a probe initiated against Dinesh and the hospital under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (KPME) Act.
The KPME nodal authority for Mysuru (registration) launched the probe and submitted a report to the directorate of health in Bengaluru following which the Director ordered the Mysuru DHO to register a case against Dinesh.
The Police has registered an FIR against accused Dinesh under sections 416 and 419 of IPC.
DHO Dr B Basavaraj said, “He was a staff nurse. The hospital sacked him long ago. We carried out an investigation and prepared a report by collecting CCTV footage, pay slips,” he said.
