New Delhi: The remarkable victory of Congress-JDS alliance in Karnataka by polls on Tuesday has boosted the morale of secular alliance while the BJP is pondering over the reasons for its defeat. Congress and JDS say Karnataka people have put a seal on secular alliance and now BJP will be ousted in 2019.

Congress-JD(S) coalition won two out of three Lok Sabha seats and two assembly constituencies. BJP managed to grab only Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat. The victory of the Congress-JD(S) coalition with huge margins gave a big blow to BJP.

In Ballari, Congress nominee VS Ugrappa defeated J Shantha of BJP by a huge margin of 2.2 lakh, which was held by BJP since 2004. Congress candidate Anand Nyamagouda won the Jamakhandi assembly segment with thumping victory. As reported by Inquilab, General Secretary Janata Dal Secular Kunwar Danish Ali said we can read the writing on the wall for 2019 general elections by looking at by poll results.
