Karwan-e-Mohabbat starts second leg from Bapughat in New Delhi, pleads for communal harmony

New Delhi: The campaign launched for the eradication of the atmosphere of hatred started its second leg from New Delhi. This delegation will cover four states, namely UP, Haryana, MP and Rajasthan. The delegates of Karwan-e-Mohabbat reached Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi at Rajghat in New Delhi from where they went to the Sikh memorial located at Tilak Vihar to commemorate the martyrs of the Sikh Riots of 1984. The victims of these riots have continued their struggle even after 33 years of its occurrence for getting justice.

The delegation of Karwan-e-Mohabbat led by Mr. Harsh Mander, former IAS Officer met the widows whose husbands were killed during the Sikh Riots. They narrated their struggle and said that in the name of justice, they have been consoled only with condolences and assurances.

Mr. Harsh Mander told that in order to end religious extremism, there is a need to promote the atmosphere of love and affection. This is known to every citizen. Despite this, RSS is making an attempt to disrupt the communal harmony of the country.

He further told that the delegates of Karwan-e-Mohabbat are propagating the message of love and affection since it is essential to ensure justice for the victims for the maintenance of security in the country. So long as the victims do not get justice, religious extremism cannot be eradicated and the efforts to maintain peace and tranquility will not be successful.

He mentioned that since 2014, a new serious of atrocities has been started for targeting Minorities under which the Muslims, the Christians and other minorities are being tortured. There is an apprehension that if Dalits raise their voice for the Dalit-Muslim unity, it may pose a danger to the authorities. Under this fear, Dalits are also being tortured so that the governance of a specific ideology could maintain its supremacy.

The delegates of Karwan-e-Mohabbat were of the opinion that the politicians of a specific ideology are disrupting Hindu-Muslim affinity and creating disturbances.

Various student leaders and members of different political parties attended the welcome program of Karwan-e-Mohabbat and presented cultural items. This delegation will enter UP wherein they will spend the night in Shamli and meet the victims in other areas of UP.
