Kashmir: 12 year old innocent Wikas Ahmad killed by Indian Army

Pulwama: A 12-year-old innocent Wikas Ahmad Rather was allegedly shot dead when the Army turned up at their neighbours house and started lining up people and beat them.

The Indian Army barged into the houses of innocent people early in the morning and left only to return back in the evening and started beating up people from the neighbouring houses, Newsclick reported.

Martyred Rather was among few other boys who protested against the army when they turned up at their houses and started assaulting people. His aunt Shabnam recalling the incident says this killing of innocent lives should reach CM Mufti who could hold them accountable for their decisive action that led to the killing of Wikas Ahmad and shooting of another woman who lies silent with the drip in her hand.

In the video footage of Wikas’s funeral, hundreds of men can be seen gathered, offering prayer in open.

She says men in the region fear for their lives and do not step out even for the prayers. This is how the people of the region are living in fear she says. The Army is on patrol in the region for the last four days she recalls.

The boy who had only gone out to buy bread for iftar got caught up in the tragedy. The Army men shot him straight in the chest only meant to kill the innocent boy. They could have shot the boy in the leg rather than taking a shot in his chest.

Had the Army not taken the decisive action of shooting him in the chest, Waqar Ahmad would still be alive says his relatives.

Now the people in the region are demanding freedom from these atrocities and boycott of elections in the region. Hizbul Mujahideen militant Aqib Ahmad also arrived at the funeral to pay his respects.

Waqas Ahmad was killed on 15 June 2018 while his funeral was held on the next day of Eid-ul-fitr.
