Kate Middleton wears Princess Diana’s favourite Tiara to a state dinner

Washington: History repeated itself when the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton wore the Lover’s Knot tiara, which was previously worn by Princess Diana.

On Tuesday, Middleton wore the famous Tiara while attending the state dinner at Buckingham Palace, reported The Hollywood Reporter. She also wore an icy blue Alexander McQueen gown.

Alongside the Tiara and the gown, Middleton wore Queen Alexandra of Denmark’s wedding necklace and the royal family order.

The Duchess wore the tiara for the first time back in 2015, during a Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace.

The Tiara was said to be Princess Diana’s favourite piece of jewelry. Notably, it was the fourth time in a row when Middleton wore the Tiara which features teardrop-shaped pearls and diamonds throughout its entirety.

The jewelry which is also known as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot was commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II’s grandmother, Queen Mary in 1914.

The Duchess who was accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, which was hosted by the Queen.

The day also marked the maiden official state visit for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands to the United Kingdom.
