Hyderabad: TS Congress organized candlelight march at People’s Plaza on 14th April. This march was led by Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy, TSPCC President to register protest against the rape cases of Kathua and Unnao.
Mr. K. Jana Reddy, Opposition Leader of Congress in Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Opposition Leader of Congress in TS Council, Mr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Mr. V. Hanumanth Rao, Mr. Kondala Lakshmaiya, Mr. D. Nagender, Ms. A. Lalita, Chairperson, Mahila Congress, Ms. N. Sharda, Chairperson, TSPCC, Mr. Khaja Fakhruddin, President TSPCC Minorities Dept. Ms. Uzma Shakir, former General Secretary, Mr. Amir Javed, Secretary NSUI and others participated in the march.
Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that BJP Govt. led by Mr. Modi gave the slogan “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” but it failed to provide even ordinary security to women. It is very shameful that BJP leaders are supporting those who are involved in criminal activities. The culprits of Unnao, Kathua rape cases have brought shame to the entire nation.
It may be mentioned that under the instructions from AICC President, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Congress worker organized candlelight march in Hyderabad and at all the district headquarters.
Mr. Rahul Gandhi led the march in New Delhi. Capt. Reddy assured that Congress party will offer security to women. He also demanded the government to take stern action against the culprits.
