KCR announces Vajpayee memorial in 1 acre, a statue & Museum

Hyderabad: Moving the motion of condolence in the legislature Council, Caretaker Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and recalled his services. The House condoled the deaths of noted politicians of the country and adjourned sine die.

Recalling the services rendered by the stalwart of Indian Politics in recent times, and extending heartfelt condolences to Vajpayee, KCR announced that the State government will provide due honor by setting up a memorial, a statue and a museum in one acre land in Hyderabad. Amid support from the treasury benches, KCR stated that officials are on the job to take immediate steps in this regard.

He recalled that he met with Vajpayee on the issue of injustice being met to the Telangana in combined State. He further said that Vajpayee was a statesman, who sacrificed his entire life for the country selflessly and has been appreciated by all leaders, irrespective of their political affiliations. Vajpayee was the best parliamentarian and noted for oratory skills, wit and poetry and attract the people while delivering speeches, he said. “Our country became noted at international level by Vajpayee’s financial reforms, welfare of poor and good governance besides conducting nuclear tests”, KCR said.

On hearing 53-minute long speech of Vajpayee in Parliament in the year 1957, then Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru had said that the former will become prime minister one day and it was proved, he said. Vapayee used to call then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as “Kali Matha” after Bangla Desh became Independent country. He also cited that Vajpayee launched several programs that got accolades through Gameena Sadak Yojana transformed the rural India, MMTS facility, Kargil War, Pokran Nuclear Test etc are significant.

KCR also paid tributes to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi, former LS Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and former MLC and Mimicry maestro Nerella Venumadhav and recalled their services.
