KCR family earned a fortune out of sand mafia: Uttam

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President . N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family members have amassed huge illegal wealth by patronising sand mafia across Telangana State.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Sircilla on the seventh day of Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that KCR and his son K. Tarakarama Rao, who is also the Mines Minister, awarded all mining contracts to their relatives. He alleged that illegal sand mining operations were being carried out in the entire region without any obstacles as they were enjoying the patronage of KCR family.

recalling his last visit to Sircilla in August last year, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that those were unforgettable moments wherein he had to meet the innocent residents who were brutally tortured by the police for objecting to sand mafia activities. He said one Tribal person Bhoomaiah was crushed to death by a lorry belonging to sand mafia. When some local residents protested, they were selectively picked by the police and subjected to third degree torture. “Are we in a democracy or in Pakistan, Burma or North Korea? These jokers and brokers have no shame and are dancing to the tunes of sand mafia,” he said while accusing the Superintendent of Police of not acting as per law in Nerella incident. “The way you are behaving with us now, you will be treated in the similar way after we come to power,” warned the TPCC Chief.
We noticed the movement of several sand lorries when our bus yatra halted for just 5 minutes near Sircillla. Have we formed Telangana to facilitate KCR family to loot our resources?” he asked adding that sand mafia activities were going on unabated as no police or revenue officials have courage to act as per rule. .

The TPCC Chief also accused KCR and KTR of insulting former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar after she visited the victims of Nerella incident. He said Meira Kumar, the daughter of Babu Jagjivan Ram, is not only an idol for Dalits, but played a key role in passing of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha. He said people must teach a lesson to KCR and KTR for their sin of insulting a Dalit woman who enjoys a special position in the hearts of people of Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy strongly condemned KTR for levelling baseless allegations against him during a recent speech in Kodad which is represented by his wife Padmavathi Reddy. He said there was no truth in the allegations levelled by KTR against him and warned him of dire consequences if he repeats such things in future. “While KTR had spent a lavish life in USA and returned to Telangana to enjoy power, as a fighter pilot of Indian Air Force, I risked my life to protect the country on borders of Pakistan and China. KTR will never match the stature of a soldier and therefore, he must think twice before making such comments,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said people of Sircilla elected KTR although he do not hail from this place. However, he said KTR has disappointed the people by not doing anything for the constituency and its people. “Earlier, I used to call him a ‘bachcha’ (child). But my friends told me that KTR was fit to be called a ‘luchcha’ (rogue),” he said and alleged that the ruling party members were resorting to largescale corruption in the name of Mission Bhagiratha or Mission Kakatiya. He said TRS leaders have gained notoriety for collecting 6% commissions.

Uttam Kumar Reddy called KTR a minister in ‘suit boot’ who remains glued to his Twitter posts. However, he said KTR never Tweeted about the suicide of over 4,000 farmers. He said KCR and KTR have turned so arrogant that never expressed any condolences over farmers’ suicides. He alleged that KTR has failed as IT and Industries minister. He said more than 5,000 industries have closed down after TRS Government came to power. He also slammed the TRS Government for not filling up vacant posts. He promised that after coming to power in Telangana in next elections, the Congress Government would create lakhs of jobs and would also pay unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month to all jobless youth.

Congress senior leaders including V. Hanumantha Rao, Shabbir Ali, T. Jeevvan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Sridhar Babu, Revanth Reddy, Rammohan Reddy, Sampath Kumar, Mahesh Reddy, Gudur Narayana Reddy, Gandra Venkatramna Reddy, Balram Naik, KK Mahender Reddy, Sarve Satyanarayana, Anil Kumar, and others participated in the bus yatra.
