KCR offer Prayers at Konaipally; Files Nomination papers; No Fanfare

Hyderabad: Caretaker Chief Minister and TRS supreme, K Chandrasekhar Rao, has filed his nomination papers to fight the Telangana State Assembly elections from Gajwel seat today exactly at the time fixed by the pandits, at 2.34 pm, before the Returning officer in the RDO office here. The filing of nomination was done without much fanfare and in the presence of Minister T Harish Rao and half-a dozen other party supporters.

Earlier in the day, KCR adhered to the tradition of seeking the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, at his most favourite shrine at Konaipally. He had darshan of Lord Venkateswara at the temple in Nangunuru mandal of Siddipet district, and then proceeded to Gajwel to file the papers. Rao, accompanied by Harish Rao and a few security personnel, placed his nominations at the feet of the Lord and offered special prayers. Priests at the temple blessed him and handed over the nomination papers to him. People of the village greeted him as he walked to the temple leaving his vehicle at a short distance.

It is said that KCR filed the nomination papers at Sri Venkateswara Swamy’s birth star time and during the Kumbha Lagnam. Vedic pandits reported to have informed him that if he filed the nominations at this particular time, he is sure to get ‘Raja Yoga’ once again.

Addressing the people later, KCR stated that Lord Venkateswara of Konaipalli had been a great source of support for him in every battle that he had fought so far. He said the blessings of the deity greatly helped him in overcoming every major problem and attending to the needs of the State. If the newly formed State emerged as number one state in many aspects, it was due to the blessings of the Lord, he added.

KCR further stated that Telangana State, which had achieved the highest growth rate in the country, should be known for the best and prosperous farmers in the country in the coming days. The state government had created enough opportunities for other communities also to prosper, he said and exuded confidence that with the blessing of Lord Venkateswara, the TRS party is set to sweep the polls and win more than 100 seats.

The Chief Minister urged the voters to elect Minister Harish Rao with a majority of one lakh votes. Kaleshwram project water will flow into the constituency by next year and once the water reached the place, it would be used for performing the Abhishekham at the feet of the Konaipalli Venkateswrara Swamy temple, he asserted. KCR also assured that Train services will be extended to the constituency in the near future.
