KCR wants centre to hand over more Depts to State

The State governments should have control on seven departments like Education, Medical, Agriculture, Urban Development sectors, opined Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here today.

Participating in a debate in the Legislative Council, the chief minister demanded the central government to hand over eight departments under the control of states which were now under the ambit of the centre. The state government is not getting required funds for its development, KCR said.

The state government has demanded Rs 24,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha, and Mission Kakatiya schemes which were appreciated by the centre. But not even Rs 24 was sanctioned for these schemes, the chief minister lamented and said opposition should not blame the state government for just politics which may send wrong signals in the public.

The chief minister refuted the allegations of opposition that the state government is under debt trap. ‘We are not borrowing loans for any celebrations or for our own’, the chief minister said adding that the government is determined to provide infrastructure for all round development of Telangana.(NSS)
