KCR worries about BCs reservation not for Muslims

Hyderabad: CM of TS, Mr. KCR is showing interest for getting 34% reservations for BCs in Panchayat Raj Elections. On the very next day of the pronouncement of interim judgment of Hyderabad High Court, Mr. KCR had announced that Govt. would approach Supreme Court. He has no interest in getting 12% reservation for Muslims. Earlier, he had promised that TRS would provide 12% reservation within 4 months of its assuming power in Telangana State. He had also declared that in case of failure to get approval from Central Govt., he would knock at the door of Supreme Court and also stage protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

It may be mentioned that he neither convened review meeting nor did obtain legal opinion for approaching Supreme Court in the case of Muslim reservations.

In order to ensure 61% reservations in Panchayat elections, KCR constituted cabinet sub-committee which is meeting on Wednesday to evolve a strategy to make a plea in the Supreme Court. It is likely to get the services of noted lawyers for this case.

CM is showing keen interest for getting 20% reservation for SCs, 10% for STs and 34% for BCs. Due to the interim judgment of Hyderabad High Court, he has not been able to do this. He should have shown the same kind of interest for providing 12% reservation to Muslims also.

It may be noted that YSR Govt. had implemented 4% reservation for Muslims pending Supreme Court verdict which is still continuing. If KCR is serious about Muslim reservations, he should have followed the footsteps of YSR.
