Kathua Case: Lecturer alleges death threats from BJP Functionaries for seeking Justice for the victim

Thiruvananthapuram: A lecturer of Sree Kerala Varma College has lodged a written complaint against the death threats from BJP leaders after she shared an FB post seeking justice for the gory Kathua rape and Murder crime.

Thrissur-based lecturer Deepa Nishanth has registered a police complaint against death threats she received from BJP functionaries after she shared a Facebook post seeking justice for the Kathua rape victim, DC reported.

Deepa who hails from Thrissur teaches at Sree Kerala Varma College has attached the screenshots of death threats by BJP functionaries in her complaint to the Police.

She also approached Kerala CM Pianrayi’s help in probing the matter to nab the accused for giving her death threats one day prior to lodging a complaint with the Police against the accused BJP functionaries.

According to a report published in NDTV, Deepa, in her police complaint, said “Attempts of threatening and shaming me has been going on in social media. TG Mohandas has posted my phone number and address on twitter which has created problems for me at a personal level.”

One of the accused TG Mohandas is currently the convener of BJP’s intellectual cell.

“I am told that false complaints have been filed against me at Thrissur police station. Social media groups with explicit content have been carrying my photographs and details, causing much damage to me. Now I am complaining because of death threats against me,” Deepa stated.

In one of the screenshot’s Deepa has shared reveals a man identified as Ramesh Kumar Nair replying to Deepa’s FB post wrote: “We want her blood as well. She has crossed our limits of patience.”

And then another man identified as Biju Nair replied with: “We will keep trying Ramesh.”

The accused Biju Nair is reportedly working in BJP’s information technology cell.

Meanwhile, the BJP intellectual cell convenor TG Mohandas denied sharing the
lecturer’s phone number with the accused who have threatened her.

Surprisingly, a Bengaluru based IT professional Deepak Sankaranarayanan was arrested for writing on FB that “31 per cent of India’s voters” gave their consent to carry out the gory Kathua gang rape and murder of the eight-year-old in J&K.

The BJP’s vote share in 2014 Lok Sabha elections was 31 percent.
