Kerala floods: Google decides to contribute 7 crores

New Delhi: With help arriving from across the nation to flood-hit-state Kerala, Google too has joined the initiative and plans to contribute $1 million (nearly Rs 7 crore) said a top company’s official.

While addressing an event, Vice President Ranjan Anandan said: “Google.org and Googlers will contribute $1 million to the relief work in Kerala,” Firstpost reported.

The giant tech-firm has also launched several measures to help victims of flood hit state Kerala, apart from activating “person finder” tool that fetched 22,000 records, Anandan said.

So far 417 people have lost their lives while nearly 9 lakh people were displaced due to heavy incessant rains.
