Kerala: SFI activist get into dispute with college students, stab one

Thiruvananthapuram: A dispute over skipping classes led to clashes between a group of students of the famous University College in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala which took an ugly turn and ended in a student getting stabbed instead.

A group of SFI unit members noticed third year BA student Akhil standing outside talking to his friends as he skipped his classes around 12 noon on Friday, Indiatoday reports.

When the unit members confronted and asked him to get inside his classroom, a dispute broke between Akhil and his groups and the SFI unit members leading to one of the members stabbing Akhil in the college premises.

Akhil was rushed to a general hospital after the attack and later was referred to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College after the first aid was provided to him. His condition is completely fine and the injuries are not serious said the doctors.

The SFI activists brutally thrashed the Akhil and other students who came to his support later stabbing one of them.

Following the incident, third-year students held a demonstration outside the government secretariat against the SFI.

The University College in Thiruvananthapuram is regarded as a fortress of CPI(M) students wing, SFI.
