KFC including 500 chicken and meat shops forcibly shut down by Shiv Sainiks

Gurugram: Hundreds of Shiv Sena workers on Wednesday forced shutting down of at least 500 meat shops including KFC outlets citing Navratras.

According to reports, over 200 Shiv Sainiks give notice to meat shops including hotels, dhabas, eateries serving non-vegetarian food in old Gurugram threatening owners to keep the shop shutters down on Tuesdays or to face consequence if fail to follow.

According to an India Today report, Shiv Sainiks asked customers at KFC outlets to vacate the area so that they can pull the shutters down.

“We have asked customers of KFC to cooperate with us in vacating the place. We have forced employees to turn electricity off inside and pull shutters down for public,” said Gautam Saini, the president of Shiv Sena Gurugram.

At Palam Vihar, meat markets and Muslim dhabas were forced to shut. After that, the Shiv Sena members forced meat shops in Sadar Bazaar, Ashok Vihar, Surat Nagar, Sector 5, 9, Pataudi Chowk, Jacobpura, Khandsa Anaj Mandi, and also Sector 14 market to pull down the shutters.
