Hyderabad: Former MIM corporator Khaja Bilal Ahmed, who had joined the Congress in January, congratulated Karnataka citizens for choosing a ‘secular party’ and helping Congress with 78 seats. Ahmed also congratulated the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi by saying, “Wherever he ( Mr Owaisi) had rallied in favour of JD(S), the party had to face defeat.”
Of total five constituencies, BJP had won two and Congress could gain support from three, but JD(S) remained unsuccessful to gather the seats, said the Ex-MIM corporator. He added that the Congress party gave tickets to 17 Muslims and remained successful to bring 7 of them. “Mr Owaisi, who participates in TV debates supporting Muslims, remained unsuccessful to get any Muslim candidates through JD (S),” he added.
He further asked as to why he (Mr Owaisi) remained unsuccessful in bringing even a single Muslim candidate in Karnataka. “You will be asked these questions by Hyderabad citizens when 2019 elections will be held,” Ahmed adds in his video message given to AIMIM president.
