Police today took BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy into custody while he was on to way to the City Police Commissioner’s office to submit a memorandum on the problems of home guards.
After a meeting with home guards at Basheerbagh journalists union office, Kishan Reddy was proceeding towards the Police Commissioner’s office for submitting a memorandum on the problems of home guards. The family members of home guards also attended the meeting. The police personnel stopped the BJP MLA on the way and took him into custody leading to a mild tension in the Basheerbagh area.
Meanwhile, police also took some home guards into preventive custody when they were on their way to the State capital to attend the meeting. Sources said over 120 home guards were taken into custody, who were coming from Miryalguda in Nalgonda district. (NSS)
