New Delhi: The curriculum of UGC NET, a countrywide examination mandatory for people eyeing teaching jobs in colleges and universities in India, will be revised for the first time in a decade.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) every year. As per the report, the syllabus of the same will be revised for the first time in a decade.
According to a report in The Hindustan Times, officials of the University Grants Commission said, “The curriculum of NET, a countrywide examination mandatory for people eyeing teaching jobs in colleges and universities in India, will be revised for the first time in a decade.”
Further in a report, senior UGC official said, “The syllabus for the exam has stayed the same though most universities have changed their curriculum over a period of time. We need to reflect those changes. The committees will prepare the draft syllabus and submit it for approval. Once approved a decision will be taken on when to implement it.”
The CBSE conducted UGC NET exam on November 5. The exam was conducted in 91 cities at 1700 exam centres across the nation.
In a conversation with India Today Education team, students who have come to appear for the UGC NET 2017 examination at Modern Public School, Karkardooma (New Delhi) said that the overall difficulty of the paper was moderate.
