Kodandaram neither opponent not our agent: Kuntia

AICC leader in-charge of Telangana State Congress Party Affairs RC Kuntia has made it clear that Telangana JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram was not an opponent to the Congress party and at the same time Kodandaram was not an agent of the Congress party.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Kuntia said that the one and only party that waging fight against TRS government was Congress party. Stating that everyone has the right to float a political party in democracy and there was lot of time to speak on alliances and TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy will reveal such issues if there any in future. Describing Kodandaram as a great person, Kuntia said that the Congress party has lot of respect at Kodandaram. Kodandaram role was pivotal in Telangana movement, he exhorted.

Stating that the Congress party would go together with all sections of the people similar to Gujarat state, Kuntia said that the IT Minister KT Ramarao’s remarks were in a manner that the TRS party would lose election. He said that the Congress party would unite the anti-KCR forces and Uttam was speaking with several people for this sake. Giving a call to the people come along with the Congress party to defeat Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said that the Congress party would conduct padayatras at constituency level, district level and state level. He informed that they will organise a huge public meeting on June 2 and AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi would attend the meeting. He said that several important leaders from TRS and TDP would join Congress party this week and made it clear that nobody lodged a complaint against BJP leader Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy that they were opposing his joining. He said that they were inducting leaders from other political parties only after consulting local leaders.

He explained that the Congress party was giving assurance to the Gulf NRIs and Congress team was touring Kuwait from February 12 onwards to know the problems of the Gulf NRIs from Telangana. He said that 30,000 Indian labourers were waiting for Amnesty in Gulf to come to India. He urged the State government to take the responsibility of them and provide free flight tickets to them to come to India. The TRS government was not in a position to see the problems of the Gulf NRIs, he said and demanded the TRS government to send a special team to Kuwait and announce NRI Policy immediately. (NSS)
