Kolkata: Muslims block roads for namaz, we did to recite Hanuman Chalisa

KOLKATA: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers block roads and recite Hanuman Chalisa near Bally Khal in Howrah, the same way Muslims block roads for namaz on Fridays.

According to ANI, BHYM Howrah district president, OP Singh said, “In Mamata Banerjee’s rule we have seen Grand Trunk Road and other main roads being blocked on Fridays for namaz. Patients die, people cannot reach the office on time because of this. As long as this continues, we will recite Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays on all main roads near Hanuman temples.”

The bitter battle between BJP and Trinamool Congress workers have caused much tension in Bengal following the former’s stupendous performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The recent incident happened after one Hafeez Mohammed Sahrukh Haldar, a 26-year-old madrasa teacher allegedly beaten up and pushed off from moving train by a group of men after refusing to chant “Jai Shree Ram”.

“I was on a train to Sealdah on June 20, when some people traveling in my compartment pressurized me to chant “Jai Shree Ram”. I refused to do so following which they beat me up badly and threw me out at the Park Circus railway station,” Halder told reporters here.

Halder, a resident of Chunakhali under Basanti police station area, said he and his entire family was living in fear after the incident.
