Essential Qualification and Experience:
(1) MOT 1st Class (Combined or Motor) Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
(2) 3 years’ experience as Chief Engineer or 4 years’ combined experience as Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer on board a Foreign Going Ship.

Eligibility: Officers holding analogous post of Dy. E.S / OCPD and Asstt. E.S taken together and equivalent post in scale of pay of Rs. 36,600 – 62,000/- having 5 years regular service in the grade in any major Port Trust / Govt. / Public Sector undertaking or Autonomous Bodies.
Educational Qualification:
(1) 1st Class MOT ( Combined or Motor) certificate.
(2) As Chief Engineer of a foreign sea going vessel or of a large vessel or of a large vessel in riverine port for a period of at least 5 years.
(3) Desirable: Extra 1st Class.
