Kolkata: Tanveer’s ears cut off by wife

KOLKATA: A woman in West Bengals’s Kolkata has cut off her young husbands’s ears at gunpoint on Tuesday evening.

According to DNA report, the 20-year-old victim identified as Tanveer who got married to Mumtaz, who is 20 years older than him said that he has no clear answer about why he married her.

Describing to the media about the brutal act of his wife and her sisters, Tanveer said in two years of their marriage, the “relations was not good” as Mumtaz allegedly torturing him on daily basis.

He also complained that his wife even prevent him from seeing his mother, who pleaded to Mumtaz to leave her son. She even sells his home and took all the huge amount of money.

Extremely disturbed and helpless Tanveer many a times ran away from home located at Narkeldanga area of Kolkata but unfortunately brought back every time allegedly by Mumtaz’s goons.

Last night, Mumtaz and her sisters allegedly chopped off both of his ears at gunpoint. Assuming him to be dead, they left him but luckily he managed to escape and united with his family members who rushed him to NRS hospital for treatment.

As the news spread, situation become tense in the area with residents and Tanveer’s family gheraoed the local police station raising questions regarding the role of police who is yet to file an FIR or arrest the accused who are at large.
