Komati, Sampath expulsion case adjourned to March 8

Hyderabad: The High Court on Friday heard the case relating to expulsion from Assembly of Congress members Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar.

During the hearing, the Judges expressed displeasure over negligent behaviour of Additional AG Ramachandra Rao. In the related contempt of court case, Legislature Secretary Narasimha Charyulu and Law Secretary Niranjan Rao also appeared before the court and submitted their explanations. Not satisfied with their submissions, the High Court directed the Judicial Registrar to take the two officers into custody and release them only after submitting Rs 10,000 security bond. Accordingly, the two fulfilled the condition and were released from custody.

In the same case, the High Court issued another notice to former Telangana Speaker S Madhusudana Chary. The Court also issued notices to the Director General of Police and superintendents of police of Gadwal and Nalgonda Districts. The case adjourned to March 8 after making the Union Home Ministry as respondent.
