Krishna River Board allocates 29 tmc to TS, 17 tmc to AP

Hyderabad: Krishna River Management Board today allocated waters to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh followed by a discussion. The Board Chairman has taken a decision allocating 29 tmc to Telangana State and 17 tmc waters to Andhra Pradesh State.

The officials of both the Telugu States sought share of waters and the board has taken a decision. Board in-charge chairman SK Jain issued orders in this regard. He directed the officials to take immediate steps to release allocated waters to the two States. The Telangana officials informed the board that the State did not use the waters it allocated earlier and AP has used more water than its quota.

On hearing both sides, the board chairman took a decision to release the waters from Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam projects to the two Telugu States. Member-secretary Harikesh Meena, Telangana Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar, AP ENC Venkateshwar Rao and other officials attended the meeting.
