K’taka minister GT Devegowda stumbles during marathon run

Mysore: Karnataka Higher Education Minister GT Devegowda on Sunday slipped while running at the Dasara Half Marathon in Mysuru.

Devegowda, who was wearing ‘lungi’, a traditional garment worn around the waist, suddenly lost balance while running and fell down. He also sustained minor injuries on his face and legs.

As soon as the minister fell down, a group of people rushed to towards him to help.

The Mysuru Dasara Sports Committee and DYES, in collaboration with the government of Karnataka, jointly conduct this marathon every year.
The 21.1 kilometer marathon is an open event for both men and women.
