Directing to suspend town planning official, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao today ordered for filing criminal cases against Film Nagar Cultural Club, contractor, engineer with regard to building collapse incident. Expressing anguish over the incident that saw the death of two persons and seven seriously injured, KTR asked the GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy to stringent measures against them for alleged dereliction and poor qualities in construction of the building that was razed down.
It may be said that Mayor B Rammohan and his deputy Baba Fasiyuddin on visiting the incident spot approved that sub standard material coupled with negligence by the officials led to the incident. The government will provide all help to the kin of victims. Cinematography minister T Srinivas Yadava also promised to provide succor to the deceased families and those injured. (NSS)
