KTR, Kavitha, Pawan condemn attack on Jagan

Hyderabad: Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao today condemned the alleged attack on YSRCP president and Leader of the Opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam Airport this afternoon.

Reacting on twitter, KTR said he seriously condemns the incident. Those who were involved in the incident should be punished, he said. KTR further prayed for speedy recovery of Jagan. The YSR Chief was attacked by one Srinivas, who works at the airport canteen.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP K Kavitha also condemned the attack on the YSRCP Chief. In two tweets, the Nizamabad MP tweeted, “We are a nation built on the values of non-violence, even when we disagree. The attack on @ysjagan is despicable and cowardly. I strongly condemn it and oppose any culture of violence in politics. As a system, we need to strengthen our security measures to ensure that such lowly acts are never successful in destroying our country’s ethos.”

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan also condemned the attack on Jagan. Pawan Kalyan appealed to the government to conduct a probe and punish the guilty.

Meanwhile, TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy also condemned the attack on YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam Airport. “Severely condemn the knife attack on @Ysjagan at Vizag airport. A proper inquiry should be done immediately. Wish him good health & long life. There is no place for such acts of violence in a democracy,” he said.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu also directed the officials to submit a report and promised a probe with regard to attack on Jagan. He said serious action will be taken against the attacker in the incident.

AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu condemned the attack on YS Jagan. He said the government has no connection with the incident and he warned of action against YSR activists if they created a law and order problem by conducting protests. He said that a probe was on to unravel truths.

Nara Lokesh, a Telugu Desam Party leader, who serves as a State minister, said such attacks had “no place in society”.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a twitter, responded saying he was safe by god’s grace, love and concern and blessings of the people. Such coward acts will not dissuade me and strengthen my resolve to work for the people of my State.
