Kumaraswamy to become CM, says Deve Gowda’s elder son HD Revanna

Bengaluru: Expressing his views on Janata Dal (Secular) party, H D Deve Gowda’s elder son HD Revanna, who is campaigning in the villages of Hassan for JDS candidates, shared his views with The Economic Times.

While campaigning in Belur, he spoke on Akshatha M on JDS’ chances, dissent in the family and his connections with Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.

When Revanna was asked about whether ‘Siddaramaiah laying a plot to defeat him’, he said: “Siddaramaiah cannot defeat me. All he wants is to limit my clout in seven constituencies of Hassan.” Explaining his strategies, the four-time MLA from Holenarasipura said: “Leave alone Siddaramaiah, I have not had animosity with anybody. The Congress government ignored all my proposals to bring in projects to the district Hassan.”

Revanna also spoke about the prospects of JDS in this election, saying that he is pretty sure that he will win 113-120 seats. Adding that H D Kumaraswamy, Deve Gowda’s younger son, will become the chief minister.

When questioned about as to why he had limited his political career to Hassan, Revanna said, “I have not limited my political career to Hassan. We all have been sharing responsibilities. My younger brother is state president and he is working under the guidance of my father. They will take right decisions. I have been extensively campaigning in Mandya, Kodagu and Chikmagaluru.”

Regarding any dissent within the family, Revanna denied any such conflicts saying, “There is no dissent. We all will stand by what party leader Deve Gowda decides.”
