Kumaraswamy seeks PM Modi’s intervention in Aero Show row

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his approval to conduct Aero India show-2019 in Bengaluru, amid reports of the next edition of the event being shifted to Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow.

“I would seek your indulgence in the matter to convey approval of Government of India for conduction of Aero India show-2019 in Bengaluru,” Kumaraswamy wrote to the Prime Minister.

Although speculations have surfaced of Lucknow hosting Aero Show next year, Union Minister Ananth Kumar said that no decision has been taken regarding the venue of the show.

“Defence Minister hasn’t said anything about Aero show shifting from Bengaluru to Lucknow; in fact, it has been said that Lucknow doesn’t have required infrastructure. All Karnataka MPs will make a representation in this regard as well,” he said.

Aero India is a biennial air show and aviation exhibition held in Bengaluru at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. It is organised by the Defence Exhibition Organisation under the Ministry of Defence. (ANI)
