Lady Gaga counts down to Met Gala in stunning dress

Washington: Met Gala 2019 is going to be one star-studded event with fans getting a glimpse of their favourite celebrities and fashion designers looking their stylish best at the red carpet. While fans wait with bated breath to glimpse the best looks from the big event, singer-songwriter Lady Gaga regaled everyone with her Pre-Met Gala dinner dress.

The Oscar winner wore a short Marc Jacobs 2019 Fallrunway black and white striped dress with layered ruffles, reported E! News.

Showing off her gorgeous outfit for the evening, Gaga posted a series of pictures on her Instagram account.

She paired the look with a black vertical fascinator that will definitely give the royal wedding attendees a run for their money!

Gaga offset her dress with the all-time perfect accessory– a teeny tiny black purse which adds just the right amount of oomph to the whole outfit!

Giving a closer look at the details of her show-stopping outfit and accessory, she shared another picture on the photo-sharing application.

On Saturday, Gaga posted a picture on her Instagram account featuring her inside a plane wearing a dress with lemons printed on it and black Dr. Martens combat boots.

“Met Gala here we come. Destination ‘Camp,’ so excited to co-chair Anna’s event,” she captioned it.

Gaga even went the extra mile to get in the spirit of the theme and added, “and I didn’t shave my legs for 4 days which really completes the look.”

She traded her sunny California look for a more classic New York appearance upon her arrival.

On Sunday, she shared a picture of herself standing in a courtyard wearing a black leather jacket, black ripped jeans, a yellow shirt, and black Celine boots.
“Back in the New York Groove,” she wrote.

Other attendees at the pre-Gala dinner included Gwyneth Paltrow, Harry Styles, Elle Fanning, Rita Ora, and James Corden, among several others.

The theme of this year’s gala is ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’. The 2019 theme is a nod to Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, “Notes on ‘Camp.'”

Gaga is one of the co-hosts of the 2019 Met Gala alongside Anna Wintour, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Harry Styles, and Serena Williams.

Wintour has confirmed the existence of a no selfie rule at the mega event.

So, guests should exercise caution if they’re trying to put up snaps and selfies this time around. “I think there are other processes in place now that take care of that [rule],” Wintour noted.

Every year, the gala welcomes a few new faces. This year, those will include Styles (in Gucci!) and the iconic drag queen RuPaul. Some of this year’s 183 committee members, which includes Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto, Katy Perry, Kerry Washington, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Lena Waithe, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Jonas, and Priyanka Chopra, are also expected to arrive.

The gala will be held inside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
