Lalu’s sons, daughter question TV channels on crime in Bihar

Patna: RJD leaders Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and Misa Bharti on Wednesday attacked the Bihar government over rising crime and wondered why television channels were silent over the issue.

Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav asked: “Dear patriotic and law-abiding channels, why are you not discussing and debating all-time high crime and corruption in Bihar?”

The former Deputy Chief Minister, a son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad, posted a tweet regarding the murder of a Home Guard in Siwan district on Tuesday.

Former Bihar Health Minister and Lalu’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav said the crime rate had soared like never before in Bihar, now ruled by the Janata Dal-United and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“Every day there are reports of murder, rape, loot, extortion, abduction and Bihar is touching a record in crimes… Media, particularly TV channels, have deliberately decided to ignore (this),” he tweeted.

Lalu’s elder daughter Misa Bharti, a Rajya Sabha member, too attacked the state government and targeted the media for not highlighting the spurt in crime.

“No one crying ‘jungle raj’, no prime time debates,” she tweeted.

Lalu Prasad’s family has been increasingly using Facebook and Twitter to target Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
