Large scale irregularities revealed at Dargah Badapahad, contract cancelled

On the complaint of large scale irregularities in Dargah Hazrat Saadullah Husaini Badapahad, Nizamabad and extortion of money from devotees, Waqf Board took action and cancelled the contract.

Local minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and public representatives had made complaint with the Waqf Board in this connection that the contractor is collecting exorbitant money from the devotees and financial burden is levied on the devotees. Waqf Board conducted primary investigation and found that the contractor was paying 2.4 Cr to the Waqf Board annually while he was collecting about 5 Cr from the devotees.

Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel and Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board Mohammed Asadullah visited Badapahad and reviewed the situation they also interacted with the devotees. Devotees also confirmed that exorbitant money is collected for Fateha khwani, slaughtering, and devotees’ stay. Similarly huge rent was being collected from hotels and others stalls, in turn they were selling water and food items on high prices. A mineral water bottle is sold at a cost of Rs. 40 to 50.

After reviewing all these complaints Waqf Board cancelled the contract.
