Last wish fulfilled: Hindu man laid to rest as per Muslim customs

JHANSI: In one of the rarest incident, an 82 year-old Hindu man’s last rites were performed as per Muslim customs, to fulfil his last wish.

Madan Mohan Yadav, famous for samosas of his iconic shop ‘Dau Samose Wala’ had been telling his family and friends about his desire to be buried and not cremated, reported Times of India.

As per Yadav’s last wish, his family without any objection conducted his last rites according to Muslim customs and buried him at Jewanshah burial ground on Monday.

“My father always had a lot of respect for both the religions and he regularly visited a ‘dargah’ apart from temples,” said his eldest son Ashok Yadav.

During the holy month of Ramzan, Yadav always used to send ‘samosas’ to the nearby mosque at the time of `Iftaar’ for breaking the roza.

“It is yet another example of communal harmony for which this city is famous,” said one of the persons present at the burial.
