Suicide bomb attack: At least 8 killed, 44 injured in Pakistan’s Quetta church

Quetta: At least 8 people have been killed and 44 people including women and children got injured in a suicide attack on Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Quetta on Sunday, as reported by Pakistan media.

Two attackers tried to enter the building and attacked the church, that is located in a high-security zone of Quetta’s Zarghoon Road, The Indian Express quotes.

One of the terrorists reportedly exploded his suicide vest near the entrance, while the another was shot down by security forces.

According to the church’s Facebook page, it had organized different programmes all throughout December to mark Christmas, and was holding a ‘Sunday School Christmas Programme’ at the time of the attack.

All of the injured people were taken to the Civil Hospital in Quetta.

On March 15, 2015, the Taliban suicide bombers attacked two churches in Lahore’s Youhanabad neighbourhood, killing 15 people and wounding 70 others.
