Light to moderate rain likely in TS next five days

Hyderabad: The well marked low pressure area over east Equatorial Indian Ocean & adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a depression over the same region and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of today, the April 26, about 1140 km east southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 1490km southeast of Chennai and 1760 km southsoutheast of Machilipatnam.

The Met office said that it is very likely to intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hours and into a Cyclonic Storm during subsequent 12 hours. It is very likely to move northwestwards off Srilanka coast during next 96 hours and reach near north Tamilnadu & south Andhra Pradesh coasts on April 30 evening.
The wind discontinuity/trough at 0.9 km from Marathawada to South Interior Karnataka now runs from Telangana to south Tamilnadu across Rayalaseema. The Upper Air cyclonic circulation extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level over interior Odisha & adjoining Chhattisgarh has become less marked.
