Link Agriculture with NAREGA: CM asks Centre

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today made a strong pitch for linking up Agriculture with NAREGA across the nation for the welfare of farmers.

Along with Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, MPs, MLAs and Chief Secretary SK Joshi, the Chief Minister launched the Rythu Bandhu scheme and demanded that the Centre link up agriculture with Narega. The amount to be paid to the coolies will be borne equally by the Centre and farmers, he said. He also urged the Centre to announce MSP to all crops. The farmers should be cautious and avoid listening to the Congress leaders. The Congress rulers have destroyed agriculture and then chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy vowed not to give a single rupee to Telangana.

The Congress leaders, who failed to question Kiran Kumar Reddy, are now making false statements against the TRS Government. “We are going to get waters for three crops a year by completing Kaleshwaram project and will irrigate one crore acres as planned, he said. The Congress should inform the people as to why they are opposing the projects, he thundered.

The Chief Minister also said some leaders opposed the statehood as it will throw them into gloom due to lack of power and the Telangana has no capable leaders for ruling. “With persistent efforts, we have disproved that and supplying 24 hour power to farm sector and tide over power crisis. This will help boost agriculture and minimum support price for farmers.

Having waived off water cess of the farmers and giving 24 hour power to farm sector the youngest state is taking all measures for their welfare, he said. It is the time for the Centre to take necessary measures to link agriculture and Narega for increasing agriculture productivity and provide the farmers with MSP he said. (NSS)
