Samajwadi Party’s Gorakhpur candidate Pravin Kumar Nishad has won the Lok Sabha by-poll with a margin of 21,916 votes.

The seat in the BJP bastion of Gorakhpur was earlier held Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , who represented the Lok Sabha seat five times.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath concedes defeat in the Gorakhpur, Phulpur Lok Sabha by-polls. Says, “We accept the verdict of the people. This result is unexpected, we will review the shortcomings. I congratulate the winning candidates.”

SP CLINCHES PHULPUR: SP candidate Nagendra Singh Patel has clinched a very significant victory in the Phulpur Lok Sabha by-polls won with 3,42,796 votes and a margin of 59,613 votes.

Samajwadi Party’s Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel leading by 57,148 with 3,37,683 votes, BJP’s Kaushlendra Singh Patel second with 2,80,535 votes after 31st round of counting.

RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam is leading by 43,345 votes.

In Gorakhpur, SP’s Praveen Kumar Nishad leads by 28,737 votes with 2,93,153 votes against BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla, who has 2,64,416 votes after 19 rounds of counting.

Praveen Kumar Nishad of Samajwadi Party leads by 26,960 votes with 2,62,346 votes, BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla second with 2,35,836 votes after 17th round of counting.

Samajwadi Party’s Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel leading by 29,474 with 2,18,963 votes, BJP’s Kaushlendra Singh Patel second with 1,89,489 votes after 20th round of counting.

RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam is leading by 23,187 with 3,33,050 votes, whereas BJP’s Pradeep Kumar Singh is trailing with 3,09,863 votes in Araria by-election.

Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee congratulated Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati for their alliance’s victory in Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections.

The West Bengal CM also tweeted her congratulations to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for his party’s victory in Araria and Jehanabad bypolls. “Beginning of the end,” she says:

SP’s Praveen Kumar Nishad leading with 2,12,061 votes, BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla second with 1,92,860 votes after 14th round of counting.

Samajwadi Party’s Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel leading by 22,842 with 1,67,008 votes, BJP’s Kaushlendra Singh Patel second with 1,44,166 votes after 15th round of counting.

SP’s Praveen Kumar Nishad leading with 1,80,155 votes, BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla second with 1,65,487 votes after 12th round of counting while independent Ateeq Ahmad has 20,468 votes.

After 11 rounds of counting in Gorakhpur, Samajwadi Party’s Praveen Kumar Nishad is leading by over 13,O00 votes with 1,63,941 votes, while BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla is second with 1,50,062 votes.

Meanwhile, after 14 rounds of counting in Phulpur, SP’s Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel is leading BJP’s Kaushlendra Singh Patel with 1,55,314 votes to 1,34,819 votes.

After 8 rounds of counting, Samajwadi Party’s Praveen Kumar Nishad is leading with a margin of 10,598, garnering a total of 1,19,427 votes in Gorakhpur while BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla has managed a total of 1,08,829 votes.

After 7 rounds in Gorakhpur, Samajwadi Party has taken a lead of 9,466 votes.

In Gorakhpur, after five rounds, Samajwadi Party is leading in by 3,760 votes with 74,077 votes against BJP’s candidate who has 70,317 votes.

After 11 rounds in Phulpur, the SP is at 1,22,247 votes, while the BJP is at 1,06,534 votes.

In a major upset for the ruling BJP, Samajwadi Party was leading in the Yogi Adityanath’s Gorakhpur constituency.

SP’s Praveen Kumar Nishad leading by 1523 with 44,979 votes, BJP’s Upendra Dutt Shukla second with 43,456 votes.

The counting of votes for the by-election for three Lok Sabha and two Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is underway.

Early trends gave the BJP gains in Bihar and a setback in Uttar Pradesh.

As counting picked up pace on Wednesday, SP candidate in Phulpur Nagendra Patel established a slender lead by 6931 votes with 54,562 votes over his nearest BJP rival Kaushlendra Singh Patel with 47,631 votes in the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha bypolls.

Initially, during the counting of the postal ballots, Kaushlendra Singh Patel of the BJP was leading, but after 10 a.m. as counting pace picked up, the Samajwadi Party candidate made a lead.

In Gorakhpur, the parliamentary constituency of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Upendra Dutt Shukla of the Bharatiya Janata Party has established a lead of over 15577 votes votes over his nearest SP rival Pravin Nishad with 13911 votes.

Poor voting percentage in the by polls and the coming together of arch rivals SP-Bahujan Samaj Party has made the contest interesting in the elections.
