Lucknow: Saudi Airlines stranded for hours due to technical fault

Lucknow: Nearly 300 passengers were stranded on Lucknow’s Amausi Airport on Wednesday after Saudi Airlines bound to Riyadh could not take off the Runway as one of its front wheel’s suddenly fell off and the Pilot immediately hit emergency brakes aborting the takeoff.

Saudi Airline flight number SV895 from Lucknow to Riyadh had to abort the takeoff around 5.30 pm due to the incident. All crew members and 300 passengers were evacuated safely. The airport remained closed until the Aircraft was removed.

This technical problem delayed other flights as well affecting at least 9 other flights. Six arrivals to Lucknow Airport were diverted to Delhi Airport while three Flights from Lucknow were stranded for hours until the aircraft was moved, Times Now reported.
