Luke Perry’s last film will be ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’

Washington: Luke Perry fans have a reason to rejoice as they will be able to witness the late actor’s magic for the last time in a star-studded upcoming film titled ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.

The star passed away at the age of 52 on Monday after suffering a massive stroke, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Perry was hospitalised on February 27 after paramedics were dispatched to his home in Sherman Oaks, California, reported People. The actor remained under observation for five days before he passed away on Monday.

The fans of the actor will also be able to see Perry’s final episodes of the CW show ‘Riverdale’ in the coming months. He will last be seen on the silver screen playing the role of Scott Lancer in the multi-starrer film, which is being helmed by Quentin Tarantino.

Set in 1969 in Los Angeles, the film features Leonardo DiCaprio as Rick Dalton, the former star of a western TV series, and Brad Pitt as his long-time stunt double Cliff Booth. The film focuses on the two, who are struggling to survive in a Hollywood they no longer recognise. Although, one person they do recognise is Rick’s next-door neighbour, Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie, who is set to be Charles Manson’s most famous victim.

Perry wrapped up shooting for the film before his death.

After Perry’s death, DiCaprio paid tribute to his co-star in the film. He took to his Twitter and wrote, “Luke Perry was a kindhearted and incredibly talented artist. It was an honor to be able to work with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his loved ones.”

Perry isn’t the first actor who passed away after being cast in the upcoming film. Last September, Burt Reynolds, who was set to star in the film, died before he had begun filming. He was replaced by his friend Bruce Dern.

The film also features Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Timothy Olyphant, Emile Hirsch, Damian Lewis, Michael Madsen, Lena Dunham, and Kurt Russell.

‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ hits theatres on July 26, this year.
