Lynched Muslim youth’s brother shifted to Apollo Hospital

New Delhi: A Muslim youth, who was attacked along with his two brothers between Ballabgarh and Mathura stations after a fight over a train seat, was shifted to Apollo Hospital here today.

Amanatullah Khan, suspended AAP MLA from Okhla, said Sakir will be treated under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scheme.

Sakir’s brother Junaid was stabbed to death while he and his other brother Hashim, were injured by a mob which allegedly also hurled communal slurs against them after a scuffle over a seat onboard the Delhi-Mathura passenger train on Thursday night.

The brothers had come to Delhi for shopping ahead of Eid.

The family alleged that Junaid was killed because of his religious identity.

“Sakir was shifted to the Apollo hospital today. He will receive treatment under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scheme,” Khan said.

Every hospital has a certain number of beds reserved for patients under the EWS category.

Khan also visited Khandwali village in Faridabad in Haryana and met Junaid’s family.
