Major Gogoi ties Kashmiri: Here is what the Army Court takes action against him

New Delhi: Two days after Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said strict action will be taken against Major Leetul Gogoi if found guilty, the Army Court today ordered disciplinary action against the Major finding him guilty of the charges leveled against him.

Major Gogoi was detained by the Police in May after he was found trying to enter a hotel in Srinagar with a local kashmiri woman, DC reported

The army court has held the major accountable for “fraternising” and in violation of the code of conduct for “being away from the place of duty while in operational area”.

The court has ordered to initiate disciplinary action against him Army sources said.

He was first in news for tieing a kashmiri man Farooq Ahmed Dar to his jeep reportedly to prevent stone pelters from targetting his convoy.

He was later awarded for his sustained efforts in counter insurgency operations by the Chief of Army Staff.
