Malaysian Prime Minister to offer Friday prayer at Jama Masjid, Delhi

New Delhi: Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak will arrive at Shahi Jama Masjid on January 26 to offer Friday prayers. He will meet Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari following Jumma prayer. It must be noted that the Malaysian delegation is part of the ASEAN group of countries, which are the chief guests for the Republic Day Parade. The chiefs of 10 ASEAN countries have reached India. ASEAN group of Countries is on a 3-day visit to India. It will attend a conference on January 25 and will attend republic day celebration on January 26.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Abdur Razak will attend the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest after the function he will visit Shahi Jama Masjid and offer prayer. Security arrangements in the area have been beefed up. Mr Razak himself expressed his desire to perform Friday prayer at Jama Masjid along with other members of his delegation.

Shahi Imam has told that the Malaysian Prime Minister is visiting the Shahi Jama Masjid for the first time. Earlier Shah Saud, Shah Faisal, Raza Shah Pehlevi Agha Khan, of Iran, Pervez Musharraf, Nawaz Shareef of Pakistan and several other leaders of various countries have visited Jama Masjid.
