Malegaon: Muslim women launches movement for liquor prohibition

Malegaon: Women residing in Municipal ward no 12, Malegaon has launched movement for liquor prohibition. Under the movement voting will be done in the area. If the campaign gets more than 50 percent votes, all the wine shops in the area will be forced to shut down.

 

Malegaon Municipal ward no 12 has 4 wine shops. The area also has a toddy centre. 90 percent of the population of the area comprises of Muslims. Youth and labour community is indulged in the bad habit due to presence of those shops. Hence some women launched the movement for prohibition of liquor which is purely people’s movement.

 

This initiative taken by Malegaon city women is worth emulating for other Muslim women of the city.
