Mamata Banerjee dares Centre, says ‘I’ll greet CBI with home food’

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday dared the Central government when she said that she would treat the CBI officers with homecooked food.

She stated that “Tomorrow they will send CBI officers to my home too. I will tell them to wait, I will give you home-cooked food. Whatever they want to eat, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, even rotis. They forget that I am not scared. I am never scared.”

A few days ago, a full-blown face-off between the Mamata Banerjee government and the Centre erupted after a CBI team attempted to arrest Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar for his alleged connection in the Saradha chit fund case. However, CBI officials were unceremoniously denied entry to the Kolkata to cop’s residence and detained.

She further added that “I have seen many governments but none like this. They send CBI to the Kolkata Police commissioner’s home. They have fallen so low. But they underestimate me. I was born out of struggle.”

While speaking to the crowd she stated that “There is nothing to fear, The last day of Parliament got over today. In another 20 days, elections will be announced. And then Election Commission will be in charge of the month-long code of conduct.”

The BJP had won just two of West Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 general elections. This time the BJP has set an ambitious target of 23.
