Man assaulted after he refuses to say “Jai Shri Ram”, lands in hospital

Kanpur: An auto driver was thrashed after he refused to say “Jai Shri Ram”. Later, the victim landed in a hospital.

Citing Amar Ujala as the source, Caravan Daily reported that the incident took place in Babu Purwa area of Kanpur.

As per the details, three persons who are identified as Sumit, Rajesh and Shiva hired the auto of the victim, Atib. After reaching the destination, they refused to pay the fare. They allegedly forced him to say “Jai Sri Ram”. When he refused to chant, they took him to Sulabh toilet and thrashed him.

Later, Atib was shifted to a hospital. Local residents demanded the immediate arrest of three accused persons.

Meanwhile, SP (South) rejected the claim that Atib was forced to chant “Jai Sri Ram”.
