Man held for cheating women using matrimonial website

Hyderabad: In yet another matrimonial fraud, a man duped many women on the promise of marriage. The man allegedly committed this crime using matrimonial website.

According to the report published in The Hans India, City Police arrested the man for cheating women. The accused is identified as N. Jeevan Kumar, a native of Nellore.

As per the details, he used to target working women by creating a fake profile on the matrimonial website. He used to make fake claim that he is a professor at the Indian Institute of Science.

It may be mentioned that the accused was arrested based on the complaint filed by a woman who is a resident of Secunderabad. Mobile phone and laptops are also recovered from him.

In the complaint, the woman disclosed that the accused contacted her through a matrimonial website. They used to talk on the phone frequently, she added.

After a few days, the accused asked Rs. 2.25 lakh from the woman for his mother’s treatment.

After getting the amount from the woman, the accused blocked her profile and stopped picking up her phone call.

Finally, on 4th October, the woman lodged a complaint.

During the investigation, police found that the accused had cheated other women too.

Earlier, the accused had cheated a woman, employee of a software company in Bangalore and managed to get Rs. 10 lakh from her.

In another case, he asked an unemployed woman to deposit Rs. 1.8 lakh into his bank account.
