Kolkata: A wife had been killed by her husband allegedly because of her addiction to social media and forgot to cook food.
Going into the details, Surajit Singh came home and asked for food. His wife, Tumpa Pal, who was busy in checking profiles on social media forgot to cook food. This made Surajit furious and he threatened her with a knife but her behaviour did not change and she continued to check profiles on social media. Surajit attacked her with the chopper and strangulated her with the towel.
Surajit thought that his wife is having an extra-marital affair with someone.
Neighbors also told that the couple used to fight frequently over the wife’s addiction to social media.
Surajit confessed his crime to the Lalbazaar police and said that he killed his wife “out of anger.”
The couple had two sons, elder one was out of the town and the younger one was in college.
